"Name My Scarecrow" Giveaway Drawing

I just love scarecrows, don't you? They add so much charm and fun to a garden. So this year, I made this sweet girl to keep me company while I'm scratching around in the soil. She wears her favorite apron ~ such a farmgirl ~ and holds a basket of small gardening tools for me so they are handy when I'm ready to play in the dirt. And if I'm really lucky, she'll keep the bunnies away while I'm not around.

Just for fun, suggest a name for Miss Scarecrow in the comments of this post. When you do, your name will be entered into a drawing for my handcrafted primitive bunny. He comes with a big grungy carrot ~ freshly pulled from the garden! He even has a little hang tag with his favorite Bible verse which, of course, is "And the Lord God planted a garden ..." Genesis 2:14. Best of all, he prefers muslin carrots so he won't try to nibble the greens in your garden!

For an extra entry, just include a link to this post on your blog announcing my giveaway and I'll drop your name in the basket a second time ... just be sure to let me know if you do so I don't miss it.

The winner will be drawn on the evening of Monday, May 26th. Please be sure to leave your blog link ~ or for you non-bloggers, you may email me with your email address so I can notify you if you win. The winner will have until June 1st to claim their prize or a secondary winner will be drawn at that time.

So get creative and let's have some fun!

And please be sure to scroll down and read about another special giveaway from me and my Glad Tidings sisters! It's realllllly nice and you won't want to miss it!

Blessings,
Lea

how about "Mommet Tattie Bogle" ?
a funny name I know but it combines both the Somerset and Scotland names for scarecrows..(mommet for Somerset (U.K.) and Tattie bogle for Scotland.)
I thought all together they made a quite charming name for a scarecrow lady.

I need a scarecrow toooo! *lol* The birds always have a feast in our cherry tree.. we have to pick the cherries when they're still slightly underripe or they'll eat everything..

That said, I must say yours reminds me of Michael Jackson, when he played the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz movie.. but then again, just about anything reminds me of Michael Jackson, hahaha..

ok, I'll go with Antje (pronounced Anchy) because then you will have a scarecrow with an authentic Dutch name.. hahaha.. like you've been waiting for that ;)

Greetings from the netherlands!

Hi Lea, sorry I have been away for so long. I'll try to be better. About 7 years ago my Mother made me a life size 'doll'. I named her Aunt Sally and I think that would be a good name for the scarecrow. I used to drive around withAunt Sally and people would look and wonder--she really was nice---I would smile and continue on my way. I have always like scarecrows, even with a crow sitting on its shoulder.
You have such a nice blog--I will mention your giveaway on my blog. MB

Lea, I think you should name her "Auntie Bellum". She's too pretty to be a scarecrow- I'd put her on my front porch as the welcome lady! LOL
I'm posting about your give-a-way, too!

Hi Lea,

Your scarecrow just looks so friendly, she looks like she'd be so hospitable to the little bunnies with her little basket..maybe even inviting them for a treat! lol! How about "Miss Daisy"? She has some a sweet face...looks like you'd want to sit down and talk with her and she'd have lots of wisdom to share! She's adorable!

Have a great week!

What a precious lady scarecrow! So, she must have a lady-like title/name. How about the Southern way of referring to 'a lady of a certain age'?

'Miss Cutie-Pie'

And btw, Mary Beth at Day4plus blog sent me over...

Hey, Lea, it's me/ I have a great affection for the name-"Mrs. Beasley". She was little Buffy's doll on Family Affair. I know a lady that name her little dog Mrs. Beasley. She has a heart and a great apron!
I will be posting the giveaways on my blog and you know how to find me!

How about "Garden Goddess"? Wait that's you! :) I think "Girtie Flirty" is a great name. I think it suits her fine with her fun apron! :) Thanks for the great giveaway. Your bunny is so prim!

To answer your question about the bowls. I just sanded them down (one had a snowman painted on the inside. :)) and painted the ones that already had paint on them black. Then I painted them all the desired color I wanted. Sand and stain. Done!

Have a great day!

I love her, such a wonderful greeting when you go out to your garden but I bet she's so sweet to the bunnies she probably knows where they can eat without getting into trouble and tells them about it! How about Mrs. Minever, she looks so prissy, I also love the prim rabbit.

Now, Miss Lea!
If you'd made the prize, let's say.... a used piece of bubble gum... I'd have had 10 names come to mind. But you made the prize MUCH too good and the pressure is just too much for me! I can't even remember my own name right now!!!

Your scarecrow is beautiful -- I don't think she's gonna scare anything off. They're all gonna want to be her friends!

You have a Blessed Day!
Julie

I love scarecrows, and yours is adorable. My four-year-old granddaughter gave this name to one of the Fisher Price little people she plays with at my house. The name is "Fionna Dabella." I have no idea how she came up with that name, but it seems like a good name for a scarecrow, too.

Have a wonderful week!

Hi Lea,
You're going to have a hard time choosing names! Since everyone seems to be referring to her as Miss Bunny, and her job is to scare rabbits away, I think her name should be Miss Booboo Bunny or Miss Shoo!shoo! Bunny. I can't decide which one is cuter. What to you think?

Your scarecrow is such a beautiful darling. I have been thinking of doing the same thing for my garden. You were all the inspiration I needed to proceed ahead. I would have never thought of putting a apron on her. I love that idea.
I think Mrs. McGregor, from the Peter Cottontail story, would be a nice name for her. She is beautiful and sweet natured looking. I have been working so hard in my garden this year, trying to get it all fenced in and I keep thinking as I'm working, that my garden looks like Mr. McGregor's garden.

How adorable!! She may guard your garden - but she'll charm visitors. How about Ms. Wigglesworth?

I would name her Eula Belle. My mom's name is Eula, and her cousin's name is Belle. They both get called Eula Belle at times. I always loved the country sound of that name.

I thought I'd already posted here this morning, but I don't see my post. If by chance I did post twice, please excuse (and delete) one. :-)
